Downward Spiral

Well, it's only halftime of the game right now, but I can't imagine anything happening in the 2nd half that would be worth talking about.  So, I thought I would go ahead and get this post out of the way.

Yet another blazing start by the Hoosiers.  The only thing that I am struggling with is exactly which score to throw out there to best illustrate the hot start by IU.

Should I go with WI taking an 8-0 lead to start the game?

Or how about 14-2 after 5 minutes?

Maybe 17-3 after 6 minutes would be better?

27-7 has a nice even 20-point margin after 7 1/2 minutes of play.

Ooh, I know, I could point out the 28-point deficit at 46-18 with 3 minutes to go in the half.

Any way you go, you can clearly see the Hoosiers came to play in this one.

Look out, Michigan State.  You're next!

i'd like to point out that they easily surpassed your 9 point prediction.

True enough, but you have to admit that you were thinking I was a genius during the first 6 minutes of the game.

Also, my 58 point margin of victory prediction is still in play.

I don't even know why I'm still watching. I'd rather be watching Danica Patrick ski jump right now.

Never a good sign when your co-players of the game were the walk-ons from Carmel. I thought Daniel Moore was the only player that played with energy. The rest of the team was completely flat. And Brett Finkelmeier gets the nod for his cross-body-block on the cutting WI player. You can't just sit and watch that crap from the bench for 37 minutes and not want to hit somebody when you get in the game.

How many time did the announcer say "Watford really needs to finish that one so close to the basket." I counted three times and I only watched the game for 10 minutes. I did see Moore's running banker in the lane. It reminded me of something Scopel would throw up in fear of Healy blocking his shot (or breaking his hand).

No highlights in the 10 minutes I watched. It was amazing how easy it was for Wisconsin to score. I am surprised they did not lose by 50. Bo Ryan has class though. If they had been playing Illinois, Weber would have left his starters in until the 2 minute mark.

Very frustrating when Jason Bohannon -- a known 3-point marksmen -- is repeatedly getting wide, and I mean WIDE, open looks.

Our level of suckness has peaked. How can we be that much shittier than other teams? Maybe IU needs to transfer to the MAC with Ball State for a couple seasons.

I don't know guys. As you can see from my posts, I'm not ready to give up on the coach. Sure would be horrible if Crean was a bust. 10 year contract isn't even a buyout option.

We just don't have the horses. I mean we're forces to play walk-on Daniel Moore. Good for him but bad for us.

Maybe I'm too easy on the coach, but it just seems that we are outmatched with personnel. Our big men are marginal scoring threats. Our PG doesn't have a shot. VJIII is our best player and he seems to be doing OK. Elston is starting to get PT but seems to be panicked. The Defense hasn't jelled.

I just hope we look back on these past 2 seasons as the lowest point ever.

I don't know anything about our incoming recuits. Is there any hope on that front?

I cannot get over how talented OSU is. Thad Matta had one of the top teams in the country a few years ago and completely rebuilt it. Turner is great but so are the guy around him. Look at Lighty and Diebler. I sure hope we can get to that level soon. Crean should have just as many resources as Matta.

i think we can be confident that these 2 years will be the lowest point easily. bad news is we don't have any immediate impact freshmen next year. creek will be a big impact, and it's hard to measure a year of added bulk/strength from our freshmen and sophs. it's also hard to measure these guys getting more cohesive as a group and more comfortable with crean's system. 15-18 wins next year.
