GameDay: IU vs. Gonzaga

My department declared today as "Marquette Day" and allowed us to wear jeans and navy/gold clothes. Well, I got the jeans part right, but my shirt appears to be much more of a crimson color. That prompted somebody to come over and tell me that I had to stay in my cubicle all day. That somebody promptly received a drop-kick in the man zone. Unfortunately, the drop-kick proved to not be as effective as I hoped because that somebody was actually a woman, but I still think she got the main two points that I was trying to make -- (1) Don't mess with me when it comes to IU hoops, and (2) Maybe you wouldn't get kicked in the groin as much if you looked a little more feminine. Anyway, my main reason for this post was to actually open up the gameday post for final pregame comments, in-game comments, and postgame comments. Go Hoosiers!

I have not posted for a while. So, I figured I'd better post something or Jeff was going to come after me. However, I must say that I do enjoy watching Jeff blog to himself. I can actually hear the sighs of frustration all the way in Cincinnati when Jeff logs on for the twenty-third time in an hour only to see that a grand total of zero people have responded to his entry. All joking aside, this blog has been fantastic. Jeff - you did a great job this year. This was always the first place I went to for info and I hope we can be on this website for another couple of weeks yet this year.

For some reason, I feel pretty good about tonight's match-up. I just think that the 3's are going to be falling. I think all of the detailed analysis has been done already and I feel like a hard fought victory is forth-coming tonight. I just hopt the game ends before I have to get up for work tomorrow. Here's to a Midwest or East region seeding next year.

I'm predicting a 79-72 victory with IU having to make some key free throws down the stretch to secure the victory.

Jeff - I forwarded your most recent blog to the female co-worker in question. Needless to say, she was not amused. She asked me to have you stop by her cube as soon as you can. Something about "I'll show him a manly groin."

Ben - Your Statistical analysis from your last blog post was way over my head. Please try to dumb it down for me next time.

We need more posts from Rad Geog. I really like that post name.

Hey look! A comment from someone! Now I can comment more without blogging to myself.

As intructed, I stopped by the co-workers cube and....STOP SIGN! I better stop right here or this is going to get insanely grotesque.

Back to the game, it looks like most Hoosier fans have a pretty good feeling about this one with the game in the 70s and IU winning by 5 or 6 points.

Let's hope we are right!

A couple early tournament observations:

Could we have our first upset? Davidson is only down 1 to Maryland at halftime.

Also, it appears Louisville is taking advantage of their favorable draw by hammering Stanford 46-20 at half. Perhaps Standford should have been headed to the NIT.

Hey look! Another comment! Oh wait....that was mine. Sorry.

I forgot what it's like to be in an office during tourney time. I'd gotten so use to taking a two day hiatus while working in the basement the past several years. At least IU got the evening draw so I can watch that game.

I second what Andy said about the blog. It was great to have it this year and I looked forward to reading each recap, especially when I wasn't able to see a game. I know this put alot of burden on Jeff to deliver something each game, but it was definitely appreciated. Not to look past this tourney, but I'm already looking forward to blogging about how awesome Gordon is next year and how he and DJ own the Big Ten!

No buzzer beaters yet in the tournament. Perhaps the Hoosiers will win on a buzzer-beater tonight for the 2nd year in a row.

I'm heading to the Harrells to watch the game. If they lose, I am going to take some swings at Chris. I hope it doesn't come to that because Chris will have some rage of his own to take out on me.

Time to put the game face on and make sure the Hoosiers win this one tonight!

I'm going way back to Jeff once again disagreeing with me. If you think Wilmont and Ratliff both have to be hot for us to win, I'm not going to bother going out(that's the only way i can see it here b/c i have to see ACC everywhere i look!) to see the game. How many times has that even happened? We've won a lot of games without one of them being worth diddly-poo. Get the darn ball inside!
