Bob Knight Agrees with Me About John Calipari

John Calipari is a scumbag.  Those are my words, not Bob Knight's.  But The General did take a direct shot at John Calipari at a recent fundraiser for the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame:
“We’ve gotten into this situation where integrity is really lacking and that’s why I’m glad I’m not coaching,” he said during his speech Thursday night. “You see we’ve got a coach at Kentucky [John Calipari], who put two schools on probation and he’s still coaching. I really don’t understand that.”
Now that is the Bobby Knight we all know and love.  And the best part....he's right.  We all know it and the real joy comes from the fact that Kentucky fans know it deep down inside.  It's a ticking bomb down there in Lexington.

I bet that single comment from Knight doubled the fundraising efforts.

Inadvertently, it's like Crean and Knight are playing good cop, bad cop for Indiana.  Crean says all the politically correct things like "he's a good friend of mine" and "he's a great coach", then Knight comes in and delivers "You see we've got a coach at Kentucky, who put two schools on probation and he's still coaching.  I really don't understand that."

That's Bob Knight poetry at its best.

Just like old times, The general is getting under the skin of Kentucky.

Knight is the only guy on TV with the balls to call out another coach. I mean, its such an apparant observation, but you won't get spineless Digger or Dick Vitale to challenge anyone.

Calipari's response was interesting. He actually took his coaching staff down the Texas Tech to teach them more about the dribble drive and now the General is calling him out. Welcome to Steve Alford's world Johnny.
