IU 74 Pitt 64

Woo-hoo!  Yes Sir!  The Hoosiers are back!  That was frickin' awesome!

The first meaningful win of the Tom Crean era.

When IU busted this thing open and the score was suddenly 59-42 with 8:00 minutes to go, I felt like I was witnessing a real Indiana basketball team again.  What a great feeling!

Then........of course, we had to make it scary at the end and allowed Pitt to get as close to 6 points still with a full minute to go.  But they still pulled it out and it never got closer than 6, so there is no doubt that I will still take it!

Tom Crean's 200th career win.

I'm so happy that I don't even know what to say!

Go Hoosiers!

It was well worth the wait! I am on cloud nine right now. I wish I was in Vegas with Andy.

I am so damn fired up right now!! What a great win!
The boys looked like a team that we all remember watching in the day!
I may not be able to sleep tonight.
I almost forgot what it was like to win a meaningful game. Watch out for this team in the Big Ten Tourney!
We seem to be improving game by game.

Go HOOSIERS!!!!!!

I fucking love it!

There was some easy money made in Vegas on this game. IU was a 9.5 point underdog.

liked the 10 man rotation with jobe only playing 6 min. pritch got robbed on his last 2 fouls.

I only watched the first 12 minutes of the game...but I REALLY liked what I saw. That is the best I have seen them look in a long time. IU definitely has some talent for the future...the best thing is that they are only going to get better.

I stand by my prediction of a National Championship in 2012.

With that said, did anyone catch Knight and Digger before the game started? Knight couldn't have tried any harder to not say "Indiana" or talk about the team. Digger tried to preview the game and Knight kept bringing up Butler. Awkward!!

Lets fire the people at IU Knight still has a grudge against, get him into the IU Hall of Fame, name the court after him and sit him in a Throne...under the banners for each home game and end this nonsense!! If that doesn't do it, have a Neil Reid look alike kiss his ring after each basket...that should do it!

Knight then did a complete 180 and only wanted to talk about IU and what they were doing right during the halftime segment. The other guys only were trying to recap the first game and Knight only wanted to talk about the IU game. I thought that was very odd.

I obviously missed the halftime discussion with Knight, interesting.

He either took some medication or he was so impressed with IU he couldn't help himself!

Chris Writes:
I missed the game due to the snow messing up the Directv reception. I'm dyin here!

I did call Jeff this morning around 8:00 after I heard the guys on Sports Talk 1250 saying "Guess who got the biggest win in the Big 10 Last night?" The other guy answered Illinios, which was quickly smacked down by the host who said "No man, Tommy Crean and Indiana" Then he played Tom Crean's "This is Indiana" quote. They were making the case that the Big Ten is deep this year and Indiana, expected to be in rebuilding this season, was good enough to win against a tough Pitt team at MSG.

By the way, Jeff was on the road for business. I'm thinkig he saw my call and promptly excused himself from Banking Deliberations to take a call from a Blog customer.
"Excuse me, Genitle-men, I have to take an important client call."

Thanks Jeff. Glad to know your priorities are straight.

I saw both the pregame and the halftime with Knight. It was very odd and did appear he was either on medication or off medication or just senile. My other theory was that after the pregame where he would not talk about Indiana, the producer or Digger said something like "we won't talk about Indiana since you don't want to", so then the stubborn SOB had to prove his point at halftime. Who knows.

I love Ben's idea about the throne and the Neil Reed look alike.

Chris, I did step out of a meeting to take your call. I just told them "I am focused on a big win for us and I think things are defineitely trending in the right direction". They just thought I was talking about a big sale, but I didn't lie.

Hmmmmm... let me clear my throat for my first post of the year.

Anyway now that the Bears are out of the playoff race, I can focus on the Hoosiers.

I really liked the hustle that I saw and the way everyone gets after the rebound... not just the big guys.

Love the point guard play. Rivers may work his way into one of my all-time faves if he keeps it up. I like the fact that he is a big dude and can play some D and takes care of the ball.

Unfortunately I missed the big run because I was 20 minutes behind on the DVR and didn't realize that the blizzard had covered the satellite dish... so I had to run outside in my pajamas and clear the dish off and I got the last 3 minutes.

I'm giving A's all around from what I saw as far as coaching, effort, and I loved all the backdoor cuts and how easily we were getting to the rim.

Did get me excited and hipefully it will alleviate my midseason Bears depression

The Bears were out of the playoff race when Cutler threw 4 picks in the season opener against the Pack.
